STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Location:  Honolulu

 

Duties:

  • Maintains reasonable assurance of the accuracy of general ledger accounts; investigates and resolves any discrepancies
  • Performs reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy of accounting information.
  • Prepare month end and necessary adjusting entries
  • Supports annual financial review, including preparation of schedules and timely response to auditor inquiries
  • Maintains internal controls with regard to proper safekeeping and organization of accounting records
  • Serve as Accounts Payable/Receivable  alternate as needed
  • Other accounting duties as required by the Controller

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, minimum associates degree in accounting
  • 3 years related experience with progressive responsibilities.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change and multi task in a fast pace environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with a strong emphasis in Excel

INSTALLER/TOWER TECHNICIAN

Location:  Hilo

We are currently seeking an individual for installation of Antenna and Electronic Systems at our Hilo, HI location.  This is an entry level position with room for advancement.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel statewide, but position will be based in Hilo, HI
  • Attention to detail/good communication skills including reading and writing
  • Must be able to work at heights in excess of 100 feet on a regular basis
  • Must be able to push, pull, turn, carry, and lift loads of over 70 lbs.

FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN – HILO, HI

Pacific Wireless Communications is looking to hire a full-time Field Service Technician for our Hilo, HI location.
The Field Service Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, service & repair of Motorola P25 two way radio systems and various electronic equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Field repair of Motorola P25 two way radio systems
• Major tasks include troubleshooting customer communications equipment and systems (including LMR systems and Microwave Systems
• Key skills and abilities include basic knowledge of electronic circuits found in communications equipment; problem solving skills to troubleshoot equipment critical to a large system where down time is very costly; ability to deal with customer technical and manufacturer field personnel
Job Qualifications:
• Experience as two way radio technician
• Ability to work independent of supervision
• Basic understanding of electronic theory and radio design
• Strong technical, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Autonomous individual that is motivated, a team player and dedicated to training lower level engineers and or technicians
• Ability to perform on call duties after hours and on weekends.
Education and Skills:

SERVICE ADMINISTRATIVE CLERK

Location:  Honolulu

SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION
Perform a variety of tasks to coordinate and supervise the activities and responsibilities of Pacific Wireless Communications’ StateNet Central, the heart of the PWC Service Department. StateNet Central’s primary goal is to provide first-class service to external and internal customers.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Creating, processing and completing service documentation, billing, answering the company’s main line and StateNet’s line, keep StateNet manned at all times, dispatch technicians to service calls, maintain open issues and service call logs, assist customer service, and coordinate activities of Service Department.
                     

  • Receive, prioritize and schedule telephone and email requests for service and quotes
  • Understand nature of customer issue and communicate issue to field technicians
  • Follow-up with technicians to obtain status of service calls
  • Follow-up with external and internal customers on the status of service calls.
  • Create service orders and enter relevant customer information regarding service calls
  • Enter billing charges and submit service orders to Accounting for billing
  • Ensure technicians comply with company policies and procedures
  • Have a basic understanding of customer service contracts
  • Order parts required for repairs and stock
  • Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers
  • Relieve or assist Customer Service as needed
  • Train new hires as needed
  • Complete Customer Reports
  • Schedule PMIs, track progress, develop PMI reports (collect and mail PMI forms) as appropriate
  • This position is hourly non-exempt.

SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Must have a pleasant personality and professionalism.
  • Ability to communicate well with customers, PWC personnel, and technicians.
  • Must have strong organizational and basic math skills.
  • Candidate should be able to multi-task, provide accurate and clear details, and have strong follow-up skills.
  • Must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to changes.
  • Must be a high school graduate.  Two year college degree or higher is a plus.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and work overtime as needed.

DAY TO DAY

  • All StateNet calls need to be answered in 2 rings
  • All emails should be responded to in an hour of receiving them
  • The shared StateNet email account will be monitored more closely and when replying.  Please reply to all from the StateNet account to assure continuity amongst all involved
  • Two representatives in StateNet at all times. 
  • Time will be inputted at the end of each work day and not in advance.  Deadline is 8:30 am the following work day.  Payroll deadline for the work week is Monday, 8:30 am.  Deadlines may vary due to holidays.
  • Ensure Service Orders are opened immediately as appropriate (for trouble calls, or schedules work).  Ensure Service Orders are created for techs to enter their time appropriately to meet the payroll deadlines.
  • All open StateNet issues will be addressed before the end of each day.
  • Ensure to hand off or “tag” with fellow StateNet representatives to ensure a smooth transition at the end of your shift or during your leave
  • All scheduled in shop work will be cc’d to customer service to assure continuity when customers arrive
  • When covering the customer service position any open items for the following day needs to be communicated to customer service representative at the end of each day in email form.
  • For service orders that have not had a status update for over a week, we should call the customer to inform them of the status weekly until the service order is closed. This customer update needs to be documented in SouthWare.

TOWER TECHNICIAN / INSTALLER

Level: Experienced Tower Technician/Steel or Iron Worker Experience

Job Description Summary: Pacific Wireless Communications is looking for experienced applicants to install 4G LTE equipment on cellular towers, rooftops and other elevated structures in Hawaii and surrounding areas. Perform other installation, inspection and maintenance activities as directed. Follow safety rules and utilize 100% tie off techniques at all times. Possess basic hand tools for type of work being performed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Climbing towers in excess of 300 feet and ladders at various heights
  • Construction, erection and maintenance of various tower types
  • Off-loading material and inventory
  • Preparation and cleaning of sites
  • Ability to follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
  • Frequent overtime is required
  • Other duties may be assigned

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to climb and to work at heights
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to work outside in all elements; including but not limited to snow, rain, wind and extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to perform a variety of labor intensive tasks
  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to perform the same task repeatedly

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possess or be able to obtain valid Climber Certification Card
  • Currently have or willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Training Card, First Aid, and CPR
