SERVICE CENTER CLERK

Job Duties and Task:

The Service Center Clerk is a key position of the PWC Hilo Service Center due to the constant interface with customers and other employees.  The Service Center Clerks major goal is providing quality service and obtaining satisfaction from customers, radio technicians, installers and other internal PWC employees, in a timely manner.


Job Description:

Perform a variety of tasks to coordinate and supervise the activities and responsibilities of the Service Center and perform a variety of clerical duties associated with the operation of the Service Center:

  • Receive telephone requests for service.  

  • Complete job ticket showing items, names, address, time received, nature of complaint, and customer’s contract status.  

  • Review technician’s copy of work orders upon completion of service and verify for items as correct pricing, extensions, taxes and account numbers.  

  • Forward work orders for billing and accounting.  

  • Complete entry into Southware on units received for repair noting items such as work performed, parts used, disposition of repaired unit, and serial numbers or other identifications.  

  • Maintain records and files such as materials ordered, received, shipped, and costs or materials and labor.  

  • May be responsible or in keeping a perpetual inventory of all materials used and required.  

  • Type work orders, memos and other correspondence.  

  • Accept and document incoming and outgoing freight/parts/equipment/etc.

  • Work under general supervision referring problems to manager for aid, guidance, or resolution.



Job Qualifications:

Education: 2 year college or business school degree from an accredited Jr. College or business school or equivalent.


Experience: Experience in using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Field Radio Technician

As a Field Radio Technician you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, trouble-shooting and repairing Two-Way Radio Infrastructure BDS/DAS system antennas, splitters, and components, and other wireless communication systems at the customers site. Duties include installation, preventative maintenance, testing, repairing, and removal of legacy equipment. We perform system design, troubleshoot, program, install commission wireless systems for a variety of customers. Wireless communications systems include: Public safety (P25, enterprise customers, and fire life safety equipment. Responsibilities include:

  • Install, maintain and provide technical support and service of wireless communications equipment such as UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz analog and digital systems. Operating mobile, portable radio equipment, dispatch consoles, and microwave systems, using both conventional and trunked radio technologies.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and resolve wireless communication equipment problems with customers in a positive efficient manner
  • Repair customer equipment by replace defective modules or components through standard troubleshooting procedures and practices.
  • Installation, commissioning, and testing of BDA/DAS systems
  • Some travel
  • Rotating on call schedule will be required.

Qualifications

  • Proficient use of basic hand tools, measuring, cable and connector installation
  • Basic knowledge/understanding of 2-way radio theory. General understanding of RF propagation (Willing to train)
  • Basic IP/networking (IP address, subnet, gateway)
  • Proficiency in operating various test equipment including but not limited to, spectrum analyzers, system analyzers, watt meter, TDR’s, FDR’s and multi-meters. (Will train)

Key Responsibilities:
- General 2 way radio technician

MOBILE RADIO INSTALLER

Job Duties and Tasks

Perform a wide variety of duties associated with the installation, dismantling, assembly, inspection and routing, testing, and repair of communications equipment in a company service center or at a customer’s location;

Inspect equipment to be used to determine condition and install mobile units including drilling of holes, routing of cables, and the connecting of the antenna, control heads, speakers, microphones, and other auxiliary accessories;

May repair minor defects by soldering connections, wiring leads and realigning leads to assure correct positioning, dress wires, assemble parts, and conduct continuity checks by use of such standard equipment as voltmeters or other test equipment;

Work under direction of licensed technician or supervisor referring problems of a technical nature for aid and guidance. 

Maintain company property and perform related work such as cleaning, packing, and storing of equipment and the keeping of records such as number of items repaired or installed.

Job Summary: As an integral member of a crew, the Tower Technician /Top Hand will be responsible for the installation of microwave and radio installations. Assigned tasks may include installation on rooftops, existing towers; tower reinforcement; antenna installation and testing; equipment inspections; microwave dish path alignment; waveguide testing and troubleshooting. This position requires the ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment and maintain a high level of professionalism, courtesy, customer service and ethics.

Pacific Wireless Communications has immediate full time positions for experienced Tower Technician/Top Hand. Applicants must have experience in leading installing microwave and LTE antenna systems on elevated antenna structures. Installers must follow safety rules and utilize 100% tie off techniques at all times. Possess basic hand tools for type of work being performed.
Job Description:

  • Lead work on tower top, looking after all aspects of work while at the tower top, ensuring that a quality installation has been performed, including rigging, hoisting, landing, fastening, etc.
  • Installation of up-top equipment including masts, clamping, bracing, supports, antennas, RRUs, cabling, bolting, true-ing up, shooting proper azimuth within tolerances, reading maps and a compass, torqueing to spec, labeling, picture-taking, documentation, plumb and tilt readings
    with smart level, etc. Closeout requirements are an absolute must.
  • Perform wave-guide, coax, fiber, lines, and hybrid cable installation, connector installation, sweep and testing assisting, weather proofing, color-coding, labeling, etc. connect coax feedlines and jumpers per piping diagrams, and support and fasten adequately for a quality, lasting installation.
  •  Do grounding, terminations, fastening, proper bolting and antioxidant use, support of leads, cadwelding as required, etc.
  • Assist on overall job on ground work as well, all tasks required to build and install a site per customer specs, maintain safe work environment, daily use and completion of company and customer forms, assisting with overall crew work, maintenance of vehicles and equipment, etc.
  • Must know how to read and understand drawings, piping diagrams, job specifications, mounting specs, testing procedures, etc. Must be able to work in a team environment on the crew and be a valued member of the team and the company

Physical Requirements:
