Position Summary:

PWC's Outside Sales Representative serves customers by selling Motorola radio communication solutions; meeting customer needs. This is a salary position with incentive bonus. Employer promotes consultive type selling practices. There are three open positions: One out of our Honolulu office, another out of our Kauai Office, and another located in Kona.     Key Responsibilities:

    General 2 way radio technician

    • Major tasks include troubleshooting customer communications equipment and systems (including LMR systems, Microwave Systems, Wireless Networks, Wireless Point to Point, Wireless Point to Multi-Point, Physical Security).
    • Key skills and abilities include basic knowledge of audio, RF, digital, and microprocessor electronic circuits found in communications equipment; problem solving skills to troubleshoot equipment critical to a large system where down time is very costly; ability to deal with customer technical and manufacturer field personnel

    Experienced Tower Technician / Electronics Installer

    Hawaiian Islands


    Pacific Wireless Communications has immediate full-time positions for experienced Tower Technician / Electronics Installers. Applicants must have experience in installing two-way radio, microwave, and/or LTE antenna systems, on elevated antenna structures and rooftops. Pacific Wireless’s mission is broad, and the Tower Technician / Electronics Installer will gain skills and experience not typically available to the average Tower Climber.


    Hawaii – Statewide. Potential employment locations are in Honolulu and Hilo.


    Experienced Tower Technician / Electronics Installer


    The Tower Technician / Electronics Installer will be responsible for the installation of two-way radio, microwave, and LTE components; including antennas, cabling and electronics. Assigned tasks may include installation on rooftops and new or existing towers. This work involves: antenna installation and testing; equipment and tower inspections; microwave dish path alignments; waveguide testing and troubleshooting; and tower reinforcements, and other duties. This position requires the ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment, while maintaining a high level of professionalism, courtesy, customer service and ethics. Pacific Wireless Communications is committed to safety. Our personnel are required follow all industry recognized safety rules and best practices; such as utilizing the 100% tie off method at all times.


    • Work on tower structures, attending to all aspects of safety while on the tower; ensuring that a quality installation has been performed, including rigging, hoisting, landing, fastening, etc.
    • Installs of a variety on infrastructure equipment including but not limited to masts, clamping, bracing, supports, antennas, RRUs, cabling. This involves bolting, trueing up, shooting proper azimuth and elevation within strict tolerances, reading maps and a compass, torqueing to spec, labeling, picture-taking, documentation, plumb and tilt readings with smart level, etc. Closeout requirements are an absolute must.
    • Performs installations of wave-guide, coax, fiber, lines, and hybrid cable systems. This involves connector installation, sweeping and testing cables, weather proofing, color-coding, labeling, etc. This requires the ability to connect coax feedlines and jumpers per piping diagrams, and the knowledge of the industry practices to support and fasten cables adequately, to achieve a quality, lasting installation.
    • Performs grounding, conductor terminations, fastening, proper bonding, proper antioxidant choice and use. This requires expertise with exothermic bonding processes such as cadwelding.
    • Assists with the overall job tasks, which includes work on the ground. This includes: all tasks required to build and install a site per customer specification; maintenance of a safe work environment; daily use and completion of company and customer forms; maintenance of vehicles and equipment; and many other duties as assigned – including work which may not be directly related to the traditional tower climber role.
    • Must know how to read and understand drawings, piping diagrams, job specifications, mounting specs, testing procedures. Must be able to work in a team environment on the crew and be a valued member of the team and the company. Must have the ability to perform basic electronics installation tasks, such as mobile radio installations in a vehicle, or the racking grounding and cabling of electronic equipment in a communication site.


    • Ability to climb and to work at heights
    • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
    • Ability to work outside in all elements; including but not limited to rain, snow, rain, wind, rain, and extreme temperatures.
    • Ability to perform a variety of labor-intensive tasks
    • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time

    • Experience as a Microwave/LTE Antenna Systems Installer is desired.
    • Microwave Team Leader or Group leader experience is a plus.
    • Industry related certifications are highly desired.
    • Possession a valid driver's license with a sufficiently clean driving record is mandatory.
    • Must possess or be immediately able to obtain valid Authorized Climber Certification.
    • Must possess or be immediately able to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Training certification.

    Experienced Radio Field Service Technician

    Kauai Island


    Pacific Wireless Communications is the leading two-way radio service and sales company in the State of Hawaii. This position is for an experienced Radio Field Service Technician, and is to be located on the beautiful island of Kauai. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, service and repair of both commercial and public safety two-way radios, radio systems, microwave systems, voice and data networks, as well as various other electronic systems and equipment.


    • Perform a variety of tasks to repair, maintain, modify, and install radio communications equipment and systems on the island of Kauai.
    • The primary focus of this role includes maintenance and troubleshooting of customer communications equipment and systems.
    • This position routinely performs module and component level repairs. Additional responsibilities include the maintenance and repair of microwave radio systems, CCTV systems, network
    • equipment, and the support of other related technologies.
    • Previous radio service, electronics repair, and installation experience is required. The ability to obtain certification such as the Electronica Technician’s Associations Certified Electronic Technician associate level certification, or higher, is required Documented ability to troubleshoot and repair current and also legacy two- way radios and systems.
    • Ability to work independent of supervision Proficient in common computer programs including the Microsoft Office suite of programs.

    Systems / Microwave Field Technician

    Summary of Duties:

    The Systems / Microwave Field Technician can perform a variety of tasks to repair, maintain, modify, install, train, and consult on communications equipment and systems in a PWC service center or at a customer site.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    A. Planning and Coordinating Activities
  • Assist in the coordination of the activities of a group of technical personnel in the installation, checkout, or modification of systems or microwave equipment
  • Determine or recommend inventory levels, part or material substitutions, acquisition of new equipment, etc.
    B. Setup Activities
  • Interpret flow diagrams, schematics, blueprints, product specifications, etc., to insure proper machine or equipment setup.
    C. Equipment Application Activities
  • Use powered hand tools such as drills, saws, air tools, spot welding equipment, etc.
  • Work with fixed gauges or other simple test equipment or visual aids (e.g., “go/no-go” lights, templates, etc.).
  • Work with adjustable measuring or test equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, curve tracer, etc.).

  • Perform “on-the-air” tests of communications equipment in accordance with FCC regulations (e.g. frequency, power, output, etc.).
    E. Troubleshooting and Repair Activities
  • Perform initial or preventive maintenance and adjustments on assembly, process or test equipment to insure proper operation.
  • Identify, diagnose, and repair malfunctions in automated electronic systems (e.g. computerized or other logic-controlled systems, electromechanical equipment, etc.).
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain communication systems, microwave systems, equipment, parts, and accessories at customer locations or PWC service centers.
    F. Fabrication and Modification Activities
  • Make modifications to electronic circuitry involving changes recommended by the manufacturer, engineering personnel or the customer.
  • Assemble and install communication systems, equipment, parts, and accessories at Motorola service centers or customer locations.
    G. Artwork and Design Activities
  • Produce detail drawings, diagrams, or schematics or subassemblies, assemblies, circuitry, or systems working within established guidelines and standards (e.g. sketches, models, layouts, specifications, verbal instructions, etc.).
  • Prepare block diagrams showing the general electronic or electrical relationships between groups, units, or functions within a system, equipment, or unit.
  • Design circuits (e.g. control circuits, test instrumentation circuits, etc.).
    H. Methods Improvement Activities
  • Keep current on new equipment, processes or products in areas of responsibility through reading technical publications and related literature.
    I. Written Documentation Activities
  • Prepare routine reports or simple memos (e.g. equipment histories, material usage, inventory reports, project statistics, time utilization, etc.).
  • Post or log data (e.g. test information, recording time, work status, equipment utilization etc.) onto appropriate records, graphs, forms, computer code sheets, etc.
  • Apply elementary geometry, general science formulas and/or electrical, mechanical or chemical principles.
  • Conduct physical inventory of test equipment, supplies, etc.
